ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION
One of the fastest-growing areas of our practice at Dunn Lambert, L.L.C. is alternative dispute resolution. Although there are many cases in which litigation or arbitration may be the best course of action for a client, our experience shows us that a process of negotiated dispute resolution better resolves many disputes.

Alternative dispute resolution, which typically involves the firm's representation of one of the parties involved in the dispute, usually results in a faster and less emotionally-draining resolution, at a fraction of the cost of litigation or arbitration.

We apply skills we use in our day-to-day representation of clients in business transactions - negotiation, compromise, conciliation, counseling, structuring and developing creative solutions - to the resolution of sometimes bitter and intractable business disputes. The results achieved are generally much more satisfying to a client than those attained through adversarial proceedings. Although our dispute resolution practice usually finds us representing one party or another in the dispute, we may act as independent mediators where the parties require such services.

In those cases where litigation (or arbitration) is preferable, or simply inevitable, we provide litigation management services to our clients. Through a network of correspondent litigation counsel, hand-picked according to the circumstances of the client and the particular case, we assist clients in managing all aspects of litigation. This includes framing the causes of action or defenses, developing and implementing strategies, and controlling litigation costs.
