Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ New Business Ventures: Part 1

On Behalf of | Dec 3, 2010 | Business Formation |

Whether reality TV star Kim Kardashian is seen in a good or a bad light depends on whom you ask. The tabloid queen seems to always be in the news, often for posing nude. At least one blogger, however, sees her as a “money-making genius.”  A blog by Jenna Goudreau that appeared in Forbes online talks about how Kardashian has launched several business ventures out of her role on reality TV.

Kardashian stars with her sisters, Khloe and Kourtney, on E’s reality show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Goudreau reports that Kim Kardashian told her that she had realized through the show that she could use her nationally recognized beauty and sex appeal to sell workout videos, diet plans, beauty products and clothes to fans.

Goudreau reports that Kardashian skillfully manages her public image in the media while at the same time remaining consistently in the news. Kardashian even managed to turn her 30th birthday party in October into a business venture by inviting anyone to come and mingle with her and other celebrity friends, provided they pay between $1,000 to $2,500 for a table and don “upscale attire.”

The next post on this blog will look at one business venture endorsed by the Kardashian sisters that failed. In this case, the sisters had to make the tough choice to jump ship in order to save their carefully crafted business image.
