eBay and PayPal sue Google over Google Wallet

Google recently announced the launch of its new business venture, Google Wallet. Last week, PayPal and eBay sued Google over Google Wallet, saying that the service was developed by former PayPal and eBay employees who had illegally shared trade secrets and intellectual property with Google. PayPal and eBay are alleging breach of contract and misappropriation of trade secrets in the development of Google Wallet because former employees of both companies were instrumental in Google's new online payment service.

University in New Jersey sues Oracle for breach of contract

Once again, the technology and software company Oracle is being sued for breach of contract. In a previous post, the lawsuit was filed against Oracle by a New Jersey technology company. But last week, Montclair State University filed a complaint against Oracle for not completing a multi-million dollar software project.

Two major New Jersey health care providers merge

A merger between Newton Memorial Hospital and one of the largest New Jersey not-for-profit hospital systems was recently approved. Like many New Jersey mergers, this health care merger is expected to result in improved customer service and increased cost efficiency. Atlantic Health will now incorporate the Sussex County hospital into its health care system which already includes Overlook Hospital and Morristown Memorial Hospital.

They are also all songs by Bob Dylan, who has been found to be the most-often cited musician in court. A law professor analyzed legal databases and found him to be the most cited, as reported in a recent article by Carol J. Williams in the Los Angeles Times.

Lawsuit against ABC by "Desperate Housewives" ex-star to get trial

On Tuesday, a judge said that the lawsuit of a former star on the hit TV show, "Desperate Housewives," against ABC and the show's executive producer, Marc Cherry, could proceed to a jury trial. Nicollette Sheridan filed the lawsuit against the network and the show's creator in April 2010 claiming that Cherry sexually harassed her, hit her during an altercation, and fired her in retaliation for complaining about her treatment to her employers.
